Fees & insurance
Deciding to start therapy is hard enough without a fog around the money. We're a boutique, out-of-network practice, and we believe you deserve clear numbers and a straight explanation of how payment works — before you ever book. Here it is.

Our fees
We match you with the clinician who fits what you're facing, and our fees are tiered by each clinician's level of experience — so there's an option that fits both your needs and your budget. All individual sessions are 45-50 minutes.

We'll confirm your exact fee on your consult, and you'll receive a written Good Faith Estimate before your first session.
Check your insuranceWhy out-of-network
We've chosen to stay out-of-network on purpose, because it keeps your care in your hands and your clinician's — not an insurance company's.

In-network care often means an insurer can limit how long you're seen
Require a formal mental-health diagnosis on your permanent record
Dictate the type of therapy, or cap your number of sessions
Out-of-network lets us give you senior clinicians, the time your work actually needs, and complete privacy. And many clients still use their out-of-network benefits to get a meaningful portion reimbursed —here's how that works.
Using your benefits
If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you can often get part of each session's cost back. The process is simpler than it sounds:
You pay your session fee at the time of your appointment.
We give you a superbill — an itemized receipt with everything your insurer needs (dates, codes, and our credentials).
You submit it to your insurance company through their portal, app, or by mail — it takes a few minutes.
Your insurer reviews it — usually about 2–4 weeks.
You're reimbursed directly by your plan for their share.
An honest note:
Reimbursement depends entirely on your plan — many cover around 50–80% after the deductible, but some cover less or nothing, and it isn't guaranteed. We'll give you everything you need to submit; what your plan pays back is between you and them.
Your right to know
Under the federal No Surprises Act, anyone paying out of pocket has the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. We provide one at scheduling — a clear, itemized estimate of what your care will cost — and we'll update it if your fee or session frequency ever changes.
You have the right to request one at any time. No hidden fees, ever.

The practical details
The everyday logistics, spelled out — how to pay, when payment is due, and what happens if you ever need to cancel.
We accept all major cards, and HSA/FSA cards are welcome for therapy.
At the time of each session.
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule; late cancellations and missed sessions are charged the full fee, since that time was held for you.
FAQ
Still unsure? Ask us anything on your free consult — including the money questions.
How much does a therapy session cost?
Our fees run $150–$400 per 45-minute session, depending on your clinician's experience level (the first 15-minute consult is free). Your exact fee is confirmed before you start, in writing.
Do you take insurance?
We're an out-of-network practice, so we don't bill insurance directly. But if your plan has out-of-network benefits, we provide a superbill so you can get part of each session reimbursed. On your free consult we'll help you understand what to expect.
How much will I actually get reimbursed?
It depends on your plan. Many plans reimburse around 50–80% of the fee after your out-of-network deductible is met, but some cover less, and it's never guaranteed. Check here or making a quick call to your insurer (with the questions above) is the best way to know.
What is a superbill?
It's an itemized receipt with the codes and clinician details your insurance needs. You submit it to your plan to claim your out-of-network reimbursement — we hand you one ready to go.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes — therapy is an eligible expense, and HSA/FSA cards are welcome. (Confirming with the practice.)
Why don't you take insurance directly?
Staying out-of-network keeps your care private and in your control — no insurer limiting your sessions, dictating your treatment, or requiring a diagnosis on your permanent record. It lets us offer senior clinicians and the time your work actually needs.
What's your most affordable option?
Our Level I clinicians — earlier-career therapists working under close senior supervision — see clients at our lowest rate ($150 per 45-minute session). It's real, well-supervised care at a more accessible fee. And if we're still not the right fit financially, we'll gladly point you toward quality lower-cost options.
