Important: this Site is not medical advice

The information on this Site is general and educational only — it is not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or advice. Using the Site does not create a therapist–client relationship; a professional relationship with CAP begins only when you and a CAP clinician have completed intake and agreed, in writing, to begin care.

The Site is not for emergencies

If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, or having thoughts of harming yourself or others, do not use this Site or its forms. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.

1. Who May Use the Site

The Site is intended for adults (18 and older) seeking information about CAP's services. By using the Site you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are using it under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Please do not submit personal information through the Site if you are under 16.

2. Not Medical Advice; No Professional Relationship

The content on this Site — including service pages, blog posts, and other materials — is for general information and education. It is not medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice, and reading it does not create a therapist–client or other professional relationship. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional with any questions about a medical or mental-health condition, and never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read here.

3. Consultation Requests & Communications

You may use the Site's forms to request a free consultation or ask general questions. Submitting a form does not establish care, guarantee availability, or obligate us to provide services — we will follow up to see whether we're a good fit. Please don't send detailed clinical, medical, or crisis information through the forms; they are not a secure or monitored channel. How we handle the information you submit is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Emergencies

The Site and its forms are not monitored in real time and must not be used for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger or crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe others' rights or restrict their use of it. You agree not to use the Site in violation of any law; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems; introduce viruses or other harmful code; scrape or harvest information about other users; or use the Site or its content to provide, or hold yourself out as providing, professional services.

6. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise noted, the content on this Site — including text, graphics, logos, and the “CAP Therapy” name — is owned by or licensed to CAP and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and share our content for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution, but you may not copy, republish, or use it commercially without our prior written permission.

7. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites, such as crisis resources or insurance benefit-check tools, for your convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites, and a link does not imply endorsement. Your use of any third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site's terms.

8. Testimonials & Results

Any testimonials or outcomes described on the Site reflect individual experiences and are not a promise or guarantee of any particular result. Therapy outcomes vary from person to person, and no specific result can be guaranteed.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CAP and its clinicians, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site or its content, including decisions you make based on information on the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including with respect to the care CAP provides to its clients under a separate treatment relationship.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CAP and its clinicians, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York, New York.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
