1. Information We Collect

When you fill out our contact or consultation form, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, and anything you type in the message field. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. Please don't share detailed medical, clinical, or crisis information through the Site — our forms are for scheduling and general questions only. Like most websites, we also automatically receive technical information such as your device and browser type, general location, referring page, and how you navigate the Site, through cookies and similar technologies. We do not collect payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, insurance ID numbers, or clinical records through this website.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

respond to your inquiry and schedule a free consultation

checkmark-icon

send newsletters you have specifically requested (until you unsubscribe)

checkmark-icon

operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site

checkmark-icon

understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site

checkmark-icon

comply with our legal obligations and protect the safety and rights of our clients, staff, and others

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the contents of your form messages for advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only in limited circumstances:

Service providers who help us operate the Site and respond to inquiries — currently Webflow, for website hosting and contact-form delivery — who may use your information only to perform services for us

checkmark-icon

Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our clients, staff, or others

checkmark-icon

With your direction or consent

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share the contents of your form submissions with advertisers or data brokers. We do use analytics and advertising technologies that share limited website-usage information (such as pages viewed) with the providers described in the next section.

4. Cookies, Analytics & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working and to understand how it is used, including:

Essential cookies that make the Site function

checkmark-icon

Google Analytics, which helps us understand in aggregate how visitors find and use the Site

checkmark-icon

Advertising-measurement pixels (such as Meta's), which we use to measure the performance of our services

As a mental-health practice, we take special care with these technologies, because on a health-related website they can reveal sensitive information. We limit their use to analytics and advertising-measurement purposes and do not use them to build health profiles about individual visitors.

You can control or opt out through your browser settings, your device's ad and privacy settings, and — for Meta — through Meta's ad-preferences and "Activity off Meta Technologies" controls. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information collected through the Site, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act's standard for reasonable safeguards. No method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — one more reason not to send sensitive clinical details through the website.

6. Data Retention

We keep website-inquiry information only as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain our legitimate business records, and we then delete or de-identify it. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Your Choices & Rights

You may:

ask what personal information we hold about you and request that we correct or delete it

checkmark-icon

unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any newsletter or by contacting us

checkmark-icon

control cookies through your browser settings

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, contact us at hello@captherapynyc.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site. Care provided to minor clients is handled through our clinical intake and HIPAA practices, not this website. If you believe a child has provided us information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Links to Other Websites

The Site may link to third-party websites, such as crisis resources or insurance benefit-check tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
