Sometimes life can feel like a constant battle against your own internal dialogue. For many of us — especially adolescents and young adults — the loudest voice in the room is the one inside your own head. When that inner dialogue defaults to criticism, it can distort your sense of identity and disconnect you from others, leaving you struggling to express who you truly are while trying to figure out how to fit into the world around you.

‍

My approach is deeply human, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity. I'm dedicated to creating a culturally sensitive, supportive space where you can explore your emotions, gain insight, and reconnect with your own voice. Healing happens when you have a safe, non-judgmental space to just be yourself, messy, uncertain, or still figuring it out. Together, we'll untangle that harsh inner dialogue and find ways to move through the world with more confidence and ease.

‍

Although artmaking isn't mandatory, creative processes let us explore inner experiences that are hard to put into words. Art has had a profound impact on my own healing, and I've made it my mission to share it as a tool for healing, self-exploration, and self-affirmation. That mission carried me from the South to New York, where I earned my Art Therapy master's degree at the School of Visual Arts. It's also shaped how I show up as a Black therapist — bringing an understanding of identity and belonging into the room that I hope makes the work feel less like translation, and more like being met.

‍

Before becoming an art therapist, I spent more than five years guiding intentional artmaking groups and providing mural painting services. I also taught art one-on-one to students in grades 6–12, adapting my instruction to their educational and emotional needs. Those experiences taught me to pay attention to how differently people express themselves and how important it is to find an approach that fits the person.

With a deep appreciation for the healing power of creativity, I bring warmth, empathy, and a strengths-based approach to my work. I believe healing comes from finding balance and learning to navigate life's natural ups and downs. Utilizing both art and talk therapy, my approach integrates modalities such as narrative art therapy, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, and somatic influences.
